CREATIVA 2025 is in the starting blocks: Colorful, diverse and inspiring

25. November 2025

Meeting place of creativity for young & old

From March 19 to 23, 2025, Europe’s largest creative trade fair, CREATIVA, will once again open its doors in Dortmund’s exhibition halls. Following the great success of previous years, the trade fair is continuing to grow and will offer even more space this year – with additional room for an expanded supporting program, more exhibitors, creative workshops and inspiring design opportunities.

Dortmund 18.03.2025 – The popular creative trade fair CREATIVA will once again offer a unique opportunity to discover the latest innovations of the year over five days in Dortmund. The creative community can expect an exciting time full of variety. From traditional craft techniques to modern applications such as plotting and tufting – the public fair has everything the creative heart desires. Creativity is brought to life with hands-on activities, workshops and live demonstrations.

CREATIVA 2025 continues to grow and will be presented on an expanded area that offers even more space for exhibitors, a diverse supporting program and creative design options.

A meeting place for creativity: a large celebrity line-up

CREATIVA focuses on creativity for all age groups – there is something for young and old alike. One example of this is the exceptional 15-year-old talent Oskar Nittner, who will be sharing his passion for creative design. He shows that many young people are also enthusiastic about creative craft techniques.

Other popular faces, such as entertainer Julian F.M. Stoeckel, pop pop star Olaf Henning and content creator Carlo Sommer – known as CasaCarlo – with a reach of over 500,000 followers on Instagram, will also be on hand to inspire visitors. A highlight of the weekend is the first CREATIVA spa thriller, written by the well-known author of handmade crime novels, Leonie Kramer. The central meeting point for the supporting program will be the CREATIVA Stage in Hall 4.

TV presenter Madita van Hülsen will accompany the supporting program on the CREATIVA Stage at the weekend and welcome guests such as the current public favourite Manuela Wisbeck, known from “Das große Promibacken”. Further demonstrations and talks will take place on the stages in Hall 7 (Cutting Academy by Plottertante & friends) on the subject of plotting and in Hall 4 on the subject of machine embroidery.

These trends take center stage

Plotting has been a popular handicraft technique in the creative sector for several years now. What initially sounds dry in the definition of “plotting contours from vector graphics on various foils or on paper” (sewsimple.de) unfolds incomparable creativity and exciting possibilities in practice. The well-known content creator Miriam Jug, also known as Plottertante, with a reach of 43,000 followers, will present the various possibilities in more detail with demonstrations and talks. Diamond painting is also particularly popular. This creative technique involves placing small diamonds and glittering stones on a painting. There will not only be exhibitors at CREATIVA, but also workshops.

The new CREATIVA TrendReport will be published again this year with seven creative trends. The trends include simplicity, “exotic and wild”, “fruity and colorful”, “super cute”, “magically fantastic”, vintage and environmental awareness.

SUSTAINABLE CITY: Sustainable design ideas

Another key theme is the SUSTAINABLE CITY. In Hall 4, everything revolves around sustainable craftsmanship with innovative and environmentally friendly materials. As last year, the SUSTAINABLE CITY offers a meeting place for exchange and learning. In addition to plant-based paints, there will also be sustainable ideas for interiors and home gardening.

“Machine embroidery marketplace” at CREATIVA

The “Machine Embroidery Marketplace” will once again be located centrally in Hall 4. Machine embroidery continues to be a major trend among the creative community. The area shows how diverse the creative technique is and also offers a stage with an informative supporting program, moderated by fashion designers leonid matthias.

CREATIVA x CAKE & BAKE

Tickets for CREATIVA are available at store.messe-creativa.de/webshop/18/tickets. CAKE & BAKE will take place at the same time as CREATIVA, from March 22 to 23. The ticket is a combined ticket and offers the opportunity to visit the popular cake fair as well. CAKE & BAKE is all about baking and cake design. The best creations in the art of cake decorating will be presented at Germany’s biggest cake competition. Demonstrations, hands-on activities and workshops make the international cake fair a central meeting point.
