SUSTAINABLE CITY Hall 6

WORKSHOP AREA

Green Art - Sustainable textile art

Hall 6, Stand 6.E16

Guided tours from 21 - 24 March, each at 11 am & 3 pm

The Department of Textiles at Paderborn University will once again be represented at this year's creativa, Europe's largest trade fair for creative design, with an 80 square metre stand. For the first time, lecturers (Barbara Jagoda-Maas, Alexandra Knie, Prof. Alexandra Kürtz, Ingrid Müller, Isabel Pallas and Marita Schäfers) will be showing a variety of different works. The artworks not only reflect their artistic skills, but also send a clear signal in favour of sustainable design.

Visitors are invited to discover these creative works, ask questions and let themselves be carried away by the intersection of art, design and environmental awareness in Hall 6 at Stand 6.E16. Guided tours will also be offered here from Thursday to Sunday at 11am and 3pm.

Zehra Eren, Selin Güzelyürür, Sina Heidemann, Katharina Otte and Eveline Reich, Master's students of Fashion Textile Design and Textile Teaching, organised the curation of the works at the fair and will be present at the stand during CREATIVA opening hours.

Sustainable mesh bag
Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday & Sunday
1:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m

Together we will crochet a small mesh bag in 1.5 hours, which you can use to give away a (wine) bottle or put a screw-top glass in it as a hanging flower vase or tealight holder. Using the same principle, you can later crochet this net bag larger so that you can use it as a shopping net. For this workshop you should have basic knowledge of crocheting. Crochet thread and crochet hook will be provided to you and you can then take it with you.

Gabriela Kaiser, who worked as a knitwear designer for several years before setting up her own trend agency, will be at your side as a workshop leader. For a few years now, she has been doing more handicrafts privately and also providing instructions on YouTube.

Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes

Sustainable buildings with Beenius Infinity Wax

Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday & Sunday

10:00 - 17:30

Together we transform rods and ordinary objects into impressive structures, toys and mechanisms with the help of Beenius Infinity Wax. Those who dare can also develop exciting constructions here. Here you can find out what is possible with the miracle material of bees. If you are interested in recreating this at home, you can also pick up a guidebook at the stand. It explains once again how you can easily make Beenius yourself with just a few resources.

In our Playspace, you can transform Beenius Infinity wax & bamboo sticks into spectacular creations. Whether it's art, buildings or toys, discover your potential in a world full of possibilities. Embark on a construction mission and experience how Beenius pushes the boundaries of what is possible.

Our Beenius Set #1 celebrates its premiere at Creative 24 and you are the first to be able to purchase it.

Beenius is brought to you by Solar Punk Now: New ideas for a utopian now.

Insider tip hemp paper: mixed media painting on 100% hemp

Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday & Sunday

The combination of sustainability and quality makes hemp paper a real all-round alternative. Despite centuries of history, the natural fibre has fallen into oblivion and is now inspiring more and more creative people. Thanks to its ecological advantages, hemp paper is more important than ever and surprises with its versatility and maximum sustainability.

Together we will combine different dry and wet techniques and paint a mixed-media masterpiece. A motif will be provided, but you are also welcome to create something alternative. The focus is on the process and the new possibilities to get creative.

You don't need any basic knowledge for this workshop, just a love of painting or a desire to try something new.

Painting materials will be provided. You will also get to take your work home with you at the end.

Alexander Hasekamp, an active painter and co-founder of Hempa, will be your workshop leader.
